Running a community group, trust, or organisation means you’re already wearing a lot of hats and communications often ends up being squeezed in between everything else. This workshop is designed to help you feel more confident, organised, and intentional about how you communicate and show up online.

We’ll break down communications and social media in a clear, practical way, focusing on what actually works for small teams and volunteer-led organisations. You’ll learn how to share your story, promote what you do, and connect with your audience — without needing to be a marketing expert or spend hours online.

This is a hands-on, supportive session with real examples, simple frameworks, and time to apply what you’re learning to your own organisation.

Course Agenda

In this workshop, you’ll:

  • Understand the basics of effective communications and social media

  • Clarify your key messages and what you want people to know, feel, or do

  • Learn what content works best on common platforms (and what doesn’t)

  • Get practical tips for planning posts and staying consistent

  • Explore easy ways to show impact, promote events, and celebrate your work

  • Build confidence to communicate in a way that feels authentic and manageable

This workshop is ideal for:

Community groups, trusts, clubs, boards, staff, and volunteers who manage communications or social media as part of their role especially if it feels overwhelming or time-consuming.

You’ll leave with clearer ideas, simple tools you can use straight away, and renewed confidence to communicate with purpose.
