Running a community group, trust, club, or board often means juggling a lot of roles and communications usually end up on the “to-do” list. From creating flyers for fundraisers, to promoting events on social media, to putting together reports and newsletters, the way you present your organisation really matters.

That’s where Canva comes in!

Canva is a free, easy-to-use design tool that makes it simple for anyone to create professional-quality graphics. You don’t need to be a designer, with thousands of ready-made templates at your fingertips, you can quickly customise posters, certificates, social media posts, presentations, newsletters, and more.

Course Agenda

This hands-on beginner’s workshop will walk you through the basics of Canva step by step. Together, we’ll explore how to:

  • Navigate the Canva dashboard.

  • Choose and customise templates.

  • Add your organisation’s logo, images, and colours.

  • Create a flyer or social media post to promote your next event.

  • Download and share your designs.

 

By the end of the session, you’ll have the confidence to start creating polished, consistent materials that save you time, strengthen your message, and make your organisation stand out.

 

Whether you’re preparing for your AGM, promoting an event, thanking your volunteers, or creating social media posts.

Canva can help you do it more easily and professionally.

 

Who is this for?

  • Absolute beginners — no design or Canva experience needed

What to bring:

  • A laptop or device (we’ll be using Canva’s free version)

  • Your Canva login details (or we’ll help you set one up on the day)

  • Any logos or images you’d like to include in your designs

  • Ideas for designs you'd like to create during the workshop.
