OUR PURPOSE  To support our communities to build a thriving, inclusive and equitable Taranaki.

The Community Organisation Grants Scheme or COGS provides grants to non-profit organisations delivering community-based social services that contribute to achieving locally-determined outcomes.

Te Puna Tahua - Lottery Grants Board - Distributes the profits made from New Zealand state lotteries, such as Lotto and Instant Kiwi, for the benefit of New Zealand communities.

The Taranaki Electricity Trust (TET) is a charitable trust. TET was formed in 1993 when New Plymouth Energy merged with the Taranaki Electricity Power Board. It receives investment income which is distributed via grants to suitable applicants from the area previously supplied by the Taranaki Electric Power Board.

Sport Taranaki is the provider of two funding streams through Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa and Taranaki Elite Athletes Foundation.  They can also provide support in finding funding for your next sport or recreation projects.

The New Plymouth District Council Community Partnerships team manage a number of grants which community groups and individuals can apply for.  There has been an increase in community funding in response to COVID-19. Contact the Community Partnerships Team for more information 06 759 6060

The Stratford District Council offers various funding opportunities to members of the District as well as community groups. 

There are various funding opportunities available to community organisations provided and administered by South Taranaki District Council.

Te Karaka Foundation has a new name and brand identify that emphasizes its mission to be a renowned foundation for giving that provides an inter-generational legacy for the Taranaki community.  Our new website is still under development but it will be ready soon.  Taranaki is a special place.

There are a range of gaming machine (pokie) societies that distribute grants to community groups across New Zealand.
