The NEW Incorporated Societies Act
What the changes mean for your organisation
Presented by Angela Solomons of Taranaki Community Law
The new Incorporated Societies Act was passed in April 2022, replacing the previous act from 1908.
EVERY Incorporated Society will need to take actions as a result of these changes.
In this on-line presentation Angela will give you an overview of the act and what you will need to do to comply.
In summary
- October 2023 - The New Legislation comes into effect.
- You will need to re-register your society and update your constitution in line with the new legislation - You will have just over 2 years to comply from this October.
- If you fail to do this your Society will cease to exist.
- From now until October 2023 incorporated Societies will continue to be registered under the 1908 Act.
